Our Approach

A healthy mental state involves emotional well-being, the capacity to live a full and creative life, and the flexibility to deal with life's inevitable challenges. But sometimes a person lacks the support system or inner resources to rally after a hard blow and may become depressed or anxious. Mental illness also has a strong genetic component and schizophrenia and bipolar disorder usually begin in young adulthood.

There are many effective ways of dealing with mental health problems including various types of counseling or talk therapy, medication, behavioral therapy and others. The first step in the process is seeking help to get an accurate diagnosis. Developing an effective treatment plan and following it is the second step. Continuous monitoring to make sure the treatments are effective is step three.

This site is designed to help you complete these 3 steps. While our tools and information are not a substitute for seeking professional help from licensed psychologists and psychiatrists, our hope is to get you started down that path armed with solid information, some diagnostic data, and a tool to help you track your progress in dealing with your problems. We want to assure you that any information you provide us in the course of being a member of this community and working with your tools will be kept strictly confidential. (Please see our privacy policy).

So, start your self-discovery journey with our general mental health questionnaire. The results links will help you progress towards a happier, healthier, more balanced life.
