A. Edward Mohebi, MBA, Chief Executive Officer / Cofounder
Edward is an experienced entrepreneur with wide breadth in the healthcare and technology sectors. He has more than 32 years of business experience including functional depth in managing companies during various growth and revenue stages: from CEO of 5 early and mid-stage companies to leading $1 billion division of a Fortune 500 company. Edward has also served on several boards of both for profit and non-profit organizations.
Edward’s experience includes senior positions with Digital Systems, Siemens, and Microsoft Corporation; as well as executive roles with SmartScan, Cogent, BioLab Software, Integra, XMLStar, and JCA. He has also served on Boards of Directors for RehabLogic, a medical software company; XMLStar, software Development Company; SmartScan, wireless mesh networks; BioLab Software, developer of pathway software for Microarray based experiments; Speaklink, voice recognition software; and others.
Edward graduated Cum Laude from the University of Washington with an MBA in Finance and Marketing and has a BA in Statistics from Washington State University.
Maurine D. Porto, MD, MPH, Chief Medical Officer / Cofounder
Dr. Porto has an extensive background in public health and preventive medicine. She has served as Bureau Chief for Communicable Disease Control, San Antonio Metropolitan Health District; Regional Director, Public Health Region 8, Texas Department of Health; Public Health Administrator, Family Health Services, San Antonio Metropolitan Health District; Medical Director, Community First Health Plans; Medical Director, Good Samaritan Clinic; Medical Director, Kerrville State Hospital, Department of State Health Services. Dr. Porto is also the past president of the Texas Association of Public Health Physicians.
Dr. Porto received her BA in Biology from Southern Oregon State University. She received her MD from University of Oregon and Masters Public Health from the University of Washington. Dr. Porto is board certified in Preventive Medicine and Public Health.
Kaveh Khoshnood, PhD , Associate Professor at Yale School of Public Health
With over 2 decades of experience conducting epidemiological research on HIV/AIDS, addiction and tuberculosis among at risk populations in United States and in resource-poor countries. Dr. Khoshnood is currently the Principle Investigator of an NIH (Fogarty International Center) funded Research Ethics Training and Curriculum Development Program with China. Dr. Khoshnood's other interests are the examination of the links among health, human rights and violent conflict and ethical dilemmas in research involving vulnerable populations. Dr. Khoshnood conducts research in U.S, China and Middle East and teaches courses on HIV/AIDS, global health and research methods and ethics at Yale University. Dr. Khoshnood serves on Yale University's Human Subjects Committee that reviews social and behavioral research protocols.
Dr. Khoshnood received his Ph.D. in Public health from Yale.
